Forum for Progressive Politics

Ideas, strategy and action for a fairer future.

FPPSTATEGIES is a forum for people who want to move politics forward – from analysis and debate to concrete strategies for change in the UK and beyond.

Independent · Evidence‑based · Open to all who share progressive, democratic values.
About

What is the Forum for Progressive Politics?

FPPSTATEGIES is an independent space for people who want politics to deliver real social, economic and environmental justice – and are prepared to think seriously about how to get there.

We bring together people from different movements, parties and communities to analyse where we are, learn from past campaigns and design strategies that can actually win change – locally, nationally and internationally.

Our work is grounded in democratic values, human rights and a belief that the transition to a fair, green and inclusive society must be built with – not for – the people most affected by today’s crises.

Focus areas

Where we focus our energy

We use the forum to map power, share evidence and build strategies across a small set of priority areas, rather than trying to do everything at once.

Pillar one
Democracy & accountability

Rebuilding trust with stronger democratic institutions, fair representation, media pluralism and meaningful participation beyond election day.

Pillar two
Economic justice

Tackling inequality through fair work, secure incomes, responsible taxation and public investment that serves people and communities, not speculation.

Pillar three
Climate & just transition

Aligning climate action with good jobs, warm homes, clean transport and a liveable planet – with workers and communities leading the transition.

Pillar four
Rights, dignity & inclusion

Defending fundamental rights and building societies where nobody is pushed to the margins because of race, gender, disability, migration status or belief.

How we work

From discussion to practical strategy

The forum combines open discussion spaces with focused workstreams that aim to produce usable tools: narrative frames, campaign maps, policy roadmaps and more.

We use a mix of online and in‑person sessions, short strategic notes and longer collaborative projects. Some activities are fully open; others bring together smaller working groups to develop detailed plans that can be picked up by campaigns, organisations and community initiatives.
